Medical Microneedling Pen
Modern treatments use an automated pen-like device. It’s handheld. The head of the device contains a circular arrangement of tiny needles. The device is set to penetrate the skin at a certain depth, making the treatment highly customizable.
As the provider passes the head of rotating needles across the skin, the needles make tiny openings in the epidermis all of the way into the dermis. This is what separates microneedling in a professional environment from what you can do at home.
Opening the skin’s pores for nourishing topicals: Another benefit of microneedling is that the skin is essentially opened up via the tiny channels made, and can thereby better absorb any variety of rejuvenating topical ointments, creams and other skin products chosen by you and the provider. What to Expect
Treatment typically takes 30–60 minutes depending on the area treated.
A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort.

Recovery from RF Microneedling is relatively easy, with only a few days of social downtime involved. For approximately one to three days following treatment, you may experience redness, itching, and swelling.
You can take care of your skin after a microneedling treatment by:
- Treating your skin very gently washing only with fingertips and a gentle cleanser
- Staying away from anything that irritates your skin until it has healed
- Avoiding direct sun exposure and using sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30
- Utilizing products containing growth factors, peptides, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and retinol to maintain your results after the initial healing process is complete
Results
Typically, patients will see initial results within a few days after their treatment. However, full results may take three to six months to appear, as collagen production takes time. The results from microneedling are long-lasting, and patients can expect to see a gradual and significant improvement in the appearance of their skin with maintenance sessions.
For optimal results, a series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is often recommended. Maintenance sessions are recommended every 6-9 months.
